NATIONAL (by Carlos Roa) Health professionals, experts in public health administration and other scholars have suddenly echoed that it is unacceptable how the issue of universities and medical schools in the country is being handled, but as They have always had to wait for this to reach stratospheric limits where babies who fail to be born are dying daily, where negligence is occurring in basic matters and where little or no knowledge is evident, not to mention professionalism when placing a student. of medicine, especially foreigners who cannot even communicate with the population that comes to the hospital simply because they do not speak the language, they do not understand the Paraguayan culture and they are not interested either.
The professionals who must be in charge of the students at the time of guard duty, at the time of doing an internship, or residency cannot cope, in addition to the fact that these students do not want to go further into the country where there is a lack of hands to collaborate with the assistance. medical treatment, but they stay in the most populated areas again and you go to the emergency room, they treat you among 6 Brazilians, not one of them speaks Spanish, they don’t know what the word “hiccup” is… there is no teacher to tell them how to handle themselves and again it is the nurses who take charge of the situation, when they are not so inflated with ego and allow the graduates to participate in the medical examination.
Unfortunately, in our country, medical students tend to proclaim themselves GODS when in reality they are nothing more than charlatans, they are not even qualified as empirical doctors, they do not have the minimum knowledge and they have no room for any new learning precisely because ego, petulance , makes them so conceited that their ears get clogged.
Added to this are the hundreds of Brazilians who traffic in a study certificate to be able to enter directly into the fourth year and from there complete their degree faster. The whole issue of medical education was already a precarious and dangerous situation, and now these murderous mafias are joining in and using the institutions to issue deadly certificates. It is that simple, and even more so knowing that they will never pass the REVALIDA to practice in their country, they just stay in Paraguay, open private aesthetic offices, if they have enough money to buy the permits and continue playing doctor.
A good example that everything is handled cleanly is the María Serrana University, which was not authorized but is still in force, the Barbie doctors who melted the faces and tails of a few women but continue to use their illegal products in our country. cost of the health and life of those who, in their ignorance, come to consult with them and above all have to pay for the poisonous infiltrations that they give them by making them believe that it is hyaluronic acid.
Professor and scientist Antonio Cubilla, ad honorem advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, stated that behind the opening of medical schools are lucrative and political businesses. He questioned the level of training of doctors at garage universities.
“I don’t know how many medical schools there are, but they are increasing every week. So, we must make a critical vision with universal criteria,” she expressed in an interview with Monumental.
Currently, the Paraguayan market offers courses in 44 medical schools.
For Cubilla, there is a big business in authorization and he pointed to two aspects: one lucrative and the other political.
“There are many medical schools that are promoted by local and city politicians, from Parliament. Everyone wants to have a university in their valley, I understand that desire, but the quality of the doctors who come out of these institutions is quite pitiful,” he questioned.
According to Cubilla, the effects of this academic anomaly are evident in the number of medical lawsuits that currently exist, many of which have to do with malpractice, which were not available 20 years ago.
“You have to have money in hand before creating a medical school. Here it is the other way around, you generate profits with the students’ money and then you look to improve,” he expressed about the interest in raising more than that of offering academic excellence.

For his part, hematologist Alfredo Boccia argued in the debate panel of the Academy of Medicine of Paraguay that the proliferation of faculties “is a business for parliamentarians, politicians, administrators and drug traffickers.”
The doctor questioned that this huge business became a serious public health problem, where medical titles are given to people who did not even have contact with patients.
“It is a gigantic scam, a money laundering mechanism,” he emphasized.
