Defense Minister, military threats to western borders increase
(ANSA) – MOSCOW, MAY 20 – Russia will create new military bases in response to NATO enlargement. This was stated by the Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu. The Minister highlighted an increase in military threats near Russia’s western borders due to the US and NATO. Shoigu, according to reports from the Russian agencies Tass and Interfax, also listed the applications for NATO membership by Finland and Sweden among the threats. (HANDLE).
