Neiva motorcycle taxi drivers protested against mobility measures

A large motorcyclist demonstration took place today in the city of Neiva, due to discontent over the mobility measures that have been decreed.

Motoworkers gathered in front of the Neiva Mayor’s Office in a vigorous protest against the measures adopted by the municipal administration that, according to them, have seriously affected their ability to carry out their work activity.

The demonstration arises in response to the decree that restricts the transportation of barbecue grills in Neiva and to the numerous traffic operations that, according to the protesters, seem more like a persecution directed at the motorcyclists.

Decree 0183 of 2024 has been the main point of contention for motorcycle workers, who express their fatigue at what they perceive as mistreatment by traffic authorities and report irregularities during procedures.

The protest began at the José Eustasio Rivera Convention Center and walked through the streets of the center of the capital of Huila until reaching the headquarters of the Mayor’s Office of Neiva. There, the protesters made their discontent heard, arguing that they feel persecuted by the provisions established in the city.

Likewise, the motorcyclists requested to be able to carry out their work without being persecuted for said activity that represents sustenance for their families.
