Pope Francis celebrated Holy Thursday Mass by visiting the womenās prison in Roma. From his wheelchair, he washed the feet of twelve inmates, following the tradition of imitating Jesus with his disciples at the āLast Supperā.
Twelve women, some of them clearly emotional or crying, climbed onto a platform and the pope walked past them in a white apron, being carried in his wheelchair due to his mobility problems, to wash and then kiss their feet.

Pope Francis celebrated the homily on forgiveness
He had previously prepared a short homily on forgiveness, but he did not read it, unusual as he usually does. In the last month he has given up reading speeches due to a respiratory problem that affected him after a flu, as he himself explained.
āWe all have small or big failures, we all have a story, but the Lord always waits for us with open arms and never tires of forgivingā
He expressed it in a tent in the prison yard.
