Former Communist Party Official Tang Yijun Dismissed Amid Investigation for Misconduct
After Tang Yijun, the former Minister of Justice of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was dismissed, mainland media has revealed the reasons behind his investigation.
Tang Yijun was demoted in January last year and officially declared dismissed on April 2 this year. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection took him directly to Beijing for investigation, but official reasons were not disclosed.
Sources close to the Ministry of Justice revealed that Tang Yijun was criticized for his lack of performance and understanding of the law during his time in office. Reports also pointed out his involvement in allowing family interference in projects and his wife’s domineering behavior.
The investigation into Tang Yijun’s misconduct mainly focuses on his tenure in Ningbo and Liaoning where he allegedly failed to supervise real estate projects, leading to massive bad debts. Additionally, his close ties with Evergrande Group’s Xu Jiayin raised suspicions of corruption and mismanagement.
The dismissal of Tang Yijun comes in the wake of the arrest of Xu Jiayin and the ongoing investigation into Evergrande Real Estate’s suspected violations. The Chinese authorities are cracking down on corruption and financial misconduct, signaling a strict stance on accountability.
Tang Yijun’s downfall highlights the repercussions of neglecting responsibilities and indulging in unethical practices, shedding light on the deep-rooted issues within the Chinese political and corporate landscape.
