The tenth edition of the “Urban Conviviality Award” was presented this morning at the headquarters of the Order of Architects of Naples, the ideas competition created by the Napolicreativa association – founded by the architect Grazia Torre – to shine the spotlight on forgotten, abandoned places but of extraordinary beauty or architectural interest.
After the small village on Monte Faito, the bridge of San Giacomo dei Capri in Naples, the museum complex of Villa Arbusto in Ischia and the Agnano racecourse – these are some of the themes of the previous editions – this year the designers from all over the world they will have the opportunity to know Annunziata Tower and express oneself, through project concepts, on redevelopment of Piazza Nicotera and the recovery of the former Teatro Moderno cinemathe first to be rethought as a meeting place between the city, the sea and the administration, the second as offices, a multifunctional center for cultural activities and exhibitions.
The competition format of the award also aims to involve local inhabitants. Participants will have the opportunity to explain their work during an exhibition/event, both in person and through slides for those who cannot physically attend. L’public meeting it will be held on May 4th at Palazzo Criscuolo and will be an opportunity for discussion and dialogue between designers, administrators and citizens, with the aim of increasing awareness of the local cultural heritage and responsibility towards it.
The tenth edition of the Urban Conviviality Award is open to working groups coordinated by a graduate in architecture, engineering or design. Non-graduates or people from other disciplines can also be part of the group.

The vote of the technical jury and that of the visitor jury will give rise to two different rankings which will be added together at a percentage of 50%.
VISITORS’ JURY The public will vote by assigning a score of 1 to only three projects.
TECHNICAL JURY will express its opinion by giving a vote between 1 and 100 for all projects.
1st place: 6.000 euro
2nd place: 2.500 euro
3rd place: 1.500 euro
web award: 300 euros for the most voted project.
The exhibition of the projects, the competition and the award ceremony will be held on May 4, 2024 at Palazzo Criscuolo – Urban Center of Torre Annunziata.
