ROME. The new heat wave that will ignite Italy from Saturday will last until Monday and will mainly affect the Centronord, with peaks of over 35 degrees. The African anticyclone Lucifer, in fact, after a cooler Thursday and Friday, will once again take over the country in this long weekend. The team of the site ‘iLMeteo.it’ warns that today and tomorrow the winds of the Mistral and Bora will be gradually attenuating and the last thunderstorms on the Apennine ridge are expected (also strong on Friday).
Both Saturday and Sunday, the experts specify, will be two days where the sun and the heat will be the absolute protagonists of the weather. The sun will shine on practically most of the regions (afternoon thunderstorms only in the Alps), while the heat will affect mainly the central and northern regions. The maximum values will reach and in some areas will exceed 35 ° C as in Sardinia, Tuscany, Emilia and lower Veneto (in the province of Cagliari, in Florence, Bologna, Ferrara and Rovigo), they will be around 33-34 ° C on the rest of the regions. It will be less hot in the South where there will be very few areas where these values will be touched (inland Sicilian areas and the Ionian coasts of Basilicata and Puglia). The heat will continue on Monday 23 August as well, after which new thunderstorms and a new general refreshment could arrive.
