Like Dolada on Saturday afternoon, the Bocce club Belluno yesterday stopped short of promotion. On Saturday Dolada had lost the final to move up to A1.

Yesterday, Belluno was defeated by a measure (12-10) by Boccia Viva in the final for the third place of the Serie B playoffs. In this case, promotion to Serie A2 was at stake.

The match between Trentino (Boccia viva is the team from Rovereto) and Belluno was largely balanced.

In the first round of traditional games, Belluno prevailed in the first individual with Bottegal (11-4 against Zenatti) and the second couple with Biasi and Burigo (11-4 against Azzolini and Brugnara). The live Boccia, on the other hand, was able to win in the first couple (11-2 in favor of Ballarini and Franch on Bordiga and De Gol) and in the first three (11-3 for Cazzanelli, Maestranzi and Tommasi on D’Agostini, Palman and Pellegrina ). In the central part of the meeting, the Roveretans built that advantage which then allowed them to resist the comeback attempt by the Belluno citizens on the last lap.

The progressive shot, first of all, was won by Franch (38-28 on Pellegrina). The first precision shot ended in a draw (8-8 between Nadio Palman and Balarini), while the second precision shot rewarded Boccia alive with Maestranzi (7-1 against De Gol).

The Bocce club Belluno tried to balance the match in the last round. The recovery work, however, was only half completed. The Belluno, in fact, won the second individual (11-6 for Dal Farra against Franch) and the fourth couple (9-8 in favor of Burigo and Pellegrina on Ballarini and Cazzanelli), while they drew 10-10 in the third couple (with Azzolini and Tava on one side, Bottegal and Sorio on the other) and were beaten 11-8 by Azzolini, Guert and Tommasi in the second trio (while in the field for the Bocce club Belluno there were Biasi, Bordiga and Palman).

«We can say that it was an unlucky match», commented the manager and member of the Bocce club Belluno Romano Sommacal, «also because we had a great opportunity to win the challenge that would have led us to the play-off on the balls. Unfortunately it did not go like this ».

Winning the final for third place would have been enough to be able to move up to the A2 series. «The first classified cannot give up climbing», Sommacal recalls, «while the second and third, given the change of regulation once the season has started, will be able to choose to go up or not without incurring any penalty». The Belluno, for now, remains in Serie B, despite the excellent year.
