Flamengo’s Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, has been suspended for two years for attempted cheating in a doping test last year.
This was announced by the Brazilian anti-doping sports court, underlining that the disqualification is retroactive as it began on April 8, when the events occurred.
Gabigol can now appeal the sentence and turn to the CAS in Lausanne.
