Finnish Kimi Raikkonen will retire from formula one at the end of the current season. F1 makes it known with a tweet on its official account in which it also posts a photo of the former Ferrari driver currently at Sauber Alfa Romeo. “Kimi Raikkonen will retire from F1 at the end of the 2021 season”, is written in the tweet. Raikkonen won a drivers’ world title in 2007 when he was at Ferrari.

Kimi Raikkonen, through his social networks, also announces his farewell to F1 at the end of the year. «This will be my last season in Formula 1 – Raikkonen writes -, and it is a decision I made last winter. It wasn’t an easy decision, but after this season it’s time for new things. Even though the season is still ongoing, I want to thank my family, all my teams, all the people involved in my racing career and above all all of you big fans who have been cheering for me all this time. Formula 1 might end for me, but there is so much more to life that I want to live and enjoy. See you around! With love, Kimi. ‘
