Towards the Alpe del Nevegal. The 47th edition of the Belluno time trial organized by the Tre Cime Promotor will take place from 6 to 8 August, along the provincial road 31 of Nevegal which from Caleipo climbs to Alpe in fiore.
An appointment that in the last three years has had the honor of being a fundamental stage of the Italian mountain speed championship of Aci Sport. This year, the Alpe del Nevegal returns to play the role of internationality: it will be valid, in fact, as well as for the Italian Mountain Speed Trophy in the North area of Aci Sport, as the third round of the Austrian National Championship curated by Amf Oamtc, the Federation of motorsport of Austria.
The 2021 edition of the Belluno time trial should not only be embellished by the return in style of the champions from beyond Brenner, but also by a significant return to uphill competitions of a good number of local riders. Many of the latter, forced a year ago to raise the white flag by the pandemic, are announced loudly on the tapes of the home race. Among them, for example, the alpagots Manuel Dall’O ‘and Igor De March. Or the Agordino Denis Mezzacasa, first of the Bellunesi last year, determined to extend his streak in the race for the E2SS title of the Italian Mountain Speed Trophy. Meanwhile, in the headquarters in via Nevegal, 6, the fruitful business meetings of the organizers of the uphill speed competition continue almost every evening, which debuted in 1954. Almost seventy years have passed, the world and the sport of motoring are changed and evolved, but the charm of the Alpe del Nevegal time trial is always intact and offers very intense emotions. From 6 to 8 August, therefore, we will restart from the extraordinary record set in 2020 by Christian Merli (2. 22.66 to cover the 5. 500 meters of the track), the only driver in history to have won the Alpe five times of Nevegal. –
