Bluetti donates renewable energy to African homes and schools with the LAAF • Techzilla project

Recently we have seen the technological innovations of Bluetti at CES in Las Vegas like Solar Swap technology and the 3 in 1 fridge. However today we want sinform you of the LAA initiativeF ( Lighting An African Family) with which the company is bringing renewable energy to several homes and schools in Africa.

It’s no secret that Africa is the continent poorest in electricity: over a billion people do not have access to electricity and per capita consumption is only 180 kWh, compared to 14,000 kWh in the USA and 7,500 kWh in Europe. This situation limits economic and social development of the continent, also causing serious health and environmental problems.

Bluetti’s spokesperson declared:

“Access to energy is fundamental for inclusive growth and the reduction of inequalities This is why we are committed to bringing renewable, off-grid and self-produced energy to homes and structures in Africa: we want to make as many people, families and situations as possible self-sufficient, because energy is one of the key factors of change, creating opportunities for children, young people and women in both urban and more isolated rural areas”.

To combat this energy emergency, Bluetti, launched the LAAF Program (Lighting An African Family) in 2021, an initiative that aims to provide thousands of solar kits for self-production and energy storage to families and structures without lighting and electricity supply.

The program aims to ensure access to electricity for as many people as possible by 2026, promoting the use of clean and renewable sources. So far, the program has donated around 2 thousand kits, consisting of a power station and a solar panel, in 9 African countries, including Nigeria, Malawi, Tanzania, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. For 2024, the program plans to donate another 10 thousand kits. Who buys a solar generator Bluetti AC300 or AC500 can contribute to Project LAAF.

Thanks to these kits, the school now has a stable power supply and a reliable Internet connection, essential elements for teaching and children’s education. Even the students from Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria, received over 100 BLUETTI PB-200 home solar kits.

Other beneficiaries of the program are were the 30 domestic photovoltaic kits donated by Bluetti to the Malawi Red Cross, to help the population affected by Cyclone Freddy, and the 100 solar home systems delivered to 100 families living in the Kilimanjaro region, in Moshi Town, Tanzania.
