Lisbon, February 16, 2024 (Ecclesia) – The Youth Service, the Vocations Pastoral Sector and the CeUC – Lisbon University Pastoral organize today, the 16th, a Via Crucis with meditations written by young refugees studying in the Portuguese capital.

“The meditations were done by young refugees who study in Lisbon and at each station there will be an artistic note. Together we will remember the Way of the Cross of World Youth Day that took place on August 4th at Parque Eduardo VII”, reads a note sent to the ECCLESIA Agency.

A Sacred Way will be presided over by the Patriarch of Lisbon, D. Rui Valério, on the evening of this Friday, February 16th, from 9pm, at Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques (next to Fonte Luminosa), in Lisbon.

The Way of the Cross is the traditional cycle of 14 stations relating to the moments of the arrest, trial and death sentence of Jesus Christ, and will be performed during the liturgical season of Lent, marked by calls for fasting, sharing and penance, a period of 40 days that began with the celebration of the Ashes, this year on February 14th, in preparation for Easter, the main festival in the Christian calendar (March 31st, in 2024).
