The green pass can become “a real boomerang, considering the undeniable difficulties” of use
The Italian government “must have the courage to ratify the vaccination obligation, given that the Italian Constitution provides for this possibility in situations such as the one we are experiencing”. This was stated by Savt in a communication addressed to Rome about the green pass and the vaccination campaign against Covid-19.
With the premise that “everything must be done to avoid a new lockdown” as a new closure would be “devastating on a socio-economic level”, Savt reasons on the “positive data” on the use of vaccines released by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and on the fact that the green pass, Covid “conceived to try to give a new impulse to the vaccination campaign”, can concretely “become a real boomerang, given the undeniable difficulties that its use entails”.
The conclusion for the Savt is that “if those called to manage the health emergency believe, and the data that are disseminated by the highest health institutions seem to confirm this thesis up to now, that the vaccine is the only tool available to combat pandemic from Covid-19, must have the courage to sanction the vaccination obligation “.
If this is not the case, the Valle d’Aosta Syndicat invites us to “avoid approving rules that can fuel divisions and discussions and that at times risk creating absurd contradictions. Above all, it is necessary to avoid delegating responsibilities to citizens and to provide that the institutions are responsible for the correct application of the rules themselves. In fact, it is not imaginable – continues Savt -, for example, that exhibitors, employers and / or workers themselves should be asked to ensure that people are in possession of the green pass. Just as we must organize ourselves so that people who legitimately choose not to get vaccinated for any reason, if they do not decide to go towards the obligation, can practice the alternative of having a tampon every 48 hours. It is precisely the institutions that must enable citizens to comply with the rules and ensure that all this happens. Not the other. And, in particular at this moment, everything is needed except running the risk of fueling divisions and raising the level of social tension ».
