A new Google Play policy will go into effect on May 11th, making common call recording apps no longer allowed to be listed on Google Play by restricting the Accessibility API from being applied to remote call recording.

The upcoming new policy for Google Play means that developers will be further restricted from using the Accessibility API, which is considered a workaround for enabling remote call recording; specifically, the Accessibility API should not be used for remote call recording, nor should apps Make such requests to the API. Google Play operations manager Moun Choi explained in a developer webinar that in this case a remote call is recorded and the person on the other end doesn’t know that the call is being recorded.

This policy change only affects third-party apps in Google Play. However, many system-preset phone dialing software can have built-in call recording functions on Android phones in certain countries, and will not be affected by the policy change.

Moun Choi said that if the app is a pre-installed phone dialing software on the phone and it has been pre-loaded on the phone, the audio from the call can be obtained without the accessibility feature, so it is not a violation of the policy. That is, if you can use the default phone dialing software to record the content of the call, you will not lose this function; however, if you are using a third-party app downloaded from Google Play, you will not be able to continue to record the call.
