(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 03 – There are 53,588 new infections from Covid in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

Yesterday there were 70,803. The victims are 118 instead, down from 129 yesterday.

The molecular and antigenic swabs for the coronavirus carried out in the last 24 hours amount to 364,182. Yesterday there were 477,041. The positivity rate is 14.7%, essentially stable compared to yesterday’s 14.8%. 489 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 4 fewer than yesterday in the balance between income and expenses. The daily admissions are 42. The people admitted to the ordinary wards return to over 10 thousand: they are 10,017, or 68 more than yesterday. It hadn’t happened since March 1st.

Also according to the ministry’s data, there are 1,284,016 people currently positive for Covid, 6,405 more in the last 24 hours. A total of 14,845,815 Italians have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic, while the deaths rise to 159,784.
