The World Expo is the world‘s highest-level expo, and an important platform to showcase the achievements of global economic and social development, strengthen mutual understanding, expand mutual exchanges, and promote mutual learning and common prosperity of civilizations. The Dubai World Expo will be held from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. This is the first World Expo held in the Middle East, with 192 countries participating. With the theme of “Communicating Thoughts and Creating the Future”, the Expo will showcase the latest global innovations and advocate global cooperation to explore solutions to common human challenges such as future development, energy security, health, and climate change. It is expected to attract countries 25 million tourists.
The UAE is an important cooperative partner of China in the Middle East and Gulf region. China-Arab cooperation is a model of mutual respect, pragmatic friendship, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between China and the Arab and Islamic countries. In recent years, China-Arab relations have developed rapidly, political mutual trust has continued to deepen, high-level exchanges of visits have become more frequent, economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges have flourished. Anti-epidemic cooperation has become a new highlight of bilateral relations. China’s joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative is highly compatible with the UAE’s concept of “revitalizing the Silk Road”. The development strategies of the two countries are effectively aligned and the cooperation prospects are broad. 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE. China’s high-level participation in the Dubai World Expo is of great significance for advancing the China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership and the construction of the “Belt and Road”, and promoting the building of a China-Arab community of shared future.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as the responsible unit for China’s participation in the World Expo affairs, coordinates the resources of all parties and steadily promotes the construction of the China Pavilion at the Dubai World Expo. The China Pavilion covers an area of 4636 square meters and is one of the largest foreign pavilions in the Dubai World Expo. At the same time, the “China Pavilion on the Cloud” has been built to facilitate remote real-world visits by Chinese and foreign audiences. The China Pavilion will focus on the theme of “Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind-Innovation and Opportunity”, relying on the vivid practice of China’s development, based on more than 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, and comprehensively expound China’s development, civilization, ecology, and international order concepts. The concept of global governance interprets the concept of building a partnership between China and other countries in the 21st century, consolidating the forces of the international community, promoting global cooperation, and creating a better future, and effectively responds to the theme of the Dubai World Expo.

The China Pavilion will focus on China’s development achievements in aerospace exploration, information technology, modern transportation, artificial intelligence, smart life, and smart agriculture. The Beidou satellite navigation system, China’s high-speed rail, unmanned new energy concept cars, and sea rice will be exhibited. Core exhibition items such as, intelligent robots, etc., show vivid cases of international energy and green cooperation carried out by outstanding Chinese enterprises, and demonstrate China’s responsibility to actively create an international cooperation environment and let the scientific and technological innovation achievements benefit more countries and people.
The third is to promote Chinese culture. Civilizations exchange due to diversity, mutual learning due to exchanges, and development due to mutual learning.
