The company that owns the Peregrino I ship reported that it has experienced an “anomaly” that has prevented it from pointing its solar panels stably at the Sun.

Astrobtic spokespeople through social networks indicated that the mission, the first American commercial robotics to the Moon, will not be able to continue unless they manage to charge the batteries and maintain a power supply.

According to the information provided, the Astrobotic Peregrine One Mission was launched in the early hours of this Monday, January 8, on the new and powerful Vulcan Centaur rocket of United Launch Alliance (ULA) from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. .

The aerospace company Astrobotic reported that after the successful activation of the propulsion systems, Peregrino I entered a “safe” operational state.

The spokespersons indicated that the module was successfully separated from the Vulcan rocket.

He indicated that before the failure, the lunar lander began receiving telemetry through NASA’s Deep Space Network.

He added that at that time the avionics systems, including the main command and data handling unit, as well as the thermal, propulsion and power controllers, were turned on and functioning as expected.
