Colombian authorities rescued a merchant who had been kidnapped in the town of Envigado, in northwest Colombia, and captured five people who were keeping him tied hand and foot in a house, military sources reported this Saturday.
The commander of the Gaula Militar Antioquia, Major Juan José Gutiérrez, explained in a video that the rescue occurred in an operation carried out in the sector known as Alto del Chocho.

Members of the Military Gaula of the Fourth Brigade and officials of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI, of the Prosecutor’s Office) arrived at the scene and They managed to free the 43-year-old citizen, whose name was not released.
The release occurred because the kidnapped person sent a text message via WhatsApp to his escort, which allowed the rapid action of the Army that achieved the rescue.
