Among the over 80s, the hospitalization rate in the last 30 days is 8 times higher among the unvaccinated than in the full cycle vaccinated (222.5 versus 26.8 hospitalizations per 100,000 inhabitants) and the death rate is 13 times higher. (129.5 versus 9.8). The Higher Institute of Health writes it in a Tweet highlighting the data contained in the new Covid-19 extended document published on Epicentro. The efficacy of vaccines has been confirmed with “strong reduction of the risk of infection in fully vaccinated compared to non-vaccinated people”, 78% for diagnosis, 93% for hospitalizations, 95% for intensive care and deaths.
