People’s deputy Maryana Bezugla, who previously accused on Facebook the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny that he “could not provide a plan for the year 2024”, therefore the military leadership of Ukraine “must leave”, reported that she has written a statement about leaving the faction and the “Servant of the People” party.

“I don’t need a weak faction and party in the war. I will continue to support the president’s initiatives, but I do not want to have joint obligations with the people’s deputies of the faction, who stick a knife in the back.” she said on Facebook.
Bezugla also added that she “does not need the quota of the deputy chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security, Defense and Intelligence” under the conditions that are allegedly “imposed” on her.
At the same time, she stated that she “supports the president” and remains “the majority deputy of the Obolon district with all the obligations of openness and working with citizens.”
It should be noted that earlier, on January 6, the Verkhovna Rada presented a draft resolution on recalling People’s Representative Maryana Bezugla from the post of deputy head of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
On January 5, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommended removing Bezugla from the position of deputy chairman of the committee.
The deputy reacted to the recommendation of the Verkhovna Rada committee to recall her from the position of deputy chairman.
She believes that “everything was done as insidiously as possible: the chairman of the Committee put it to a vote when I warned him that I would be late for the meeting, in my absence; and colleagues voted.”
“I will never give up and no blackmail will force me to back down from principles, work, struggle and truth. It would be a shame for colleagues in the Committee, as she said, if everyone actively joined the work with the national security and defense sector and did not make opportunistic decisions about what to say profitably and what not; then there would be completely different realities. We have a war! So the work and struggle continues.” – emphasized Bezugla.
We will also remind that at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on January 10, the people’s elected representatives “did not have time” to include in the agenda of the parliament session the issue of the dismissal of Maryana Bezuglai from the post of deputy head of the committee on national security and defense.
