FRONT CANAVESE. “The check is ready to solve a problem of the territory”: this is how the president of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio began at the meeting on Wednesday with the Canavese mayors, with the help of the regional councilors for public works Marco Gabusi and the budget Andrea Tronzano , to explain the development of the project, expected for 30 years, concerning the first batch of works for the Lombardore-Front variant of the provincial road 460.

“Thanks to the ready design, financed with 200,000 euros, with the reworking and technical-economic updating of the project, entrusted to the Metropolitan City of Turin, the approval of the 25 million grant for the first of the two lots of the work has arrived from Cipess, the inter-ministerial committee for economic planning and development – explained Cirio. – The widening of the road will make it possible to speed up and facilitate the road system towards the industrial district of molding, the most important economic resource in the Canavese area which employs 8,000 people, in addition to other companies in various sectors. My goal is to leave things better than how I found them and this is an important step to give an additional opportunity for development, because companies, to be truly competitive, need to have infrastructures up to par “.

The meeting was also attended by the deputy mayor of the metropolitan city Jacopo Suppo, who holds the responsibility for traffic and infrastructure: «This time, after many meetings, we are sure that the funds have been allocated. The manufacturing world of the Lower Canavese has been asking for this variant for a long time and finally the first of four batches of works, for which the project is already ready, can start. To facilitate the journey, the Metropolitan City has promoted two calls for the recruitment of 33 new roadmen and 56 technicians who will lend a hand in planning ».

The meeting was also attended by Sergio Barone, president of Coldiretti Turin who, after the demonstration in February with the exponents of the agricultural world, reiterated the importance of not damaging the primary sector, while the mayors asked to give continuity to the project up to the lot for the link road between Busano and Salassa.

«Everyone will be listened to, as we have done so far – comments Cirio. – We will never all agree, but starting with the work is the important thing now, meeting the needs of all the categories concerned ».

The president then continued the tour in Canavese towards the Carabinieri barracks in Rivara, which needs maintenance as soon as possible and for which the Municipality has requested the intervention of the Piedmont Region, and then continues towards the Mulino di Val a Forno and the villages of Levone and Barbania.
