Seven horses from the Household Cavalry walked through central London on Wednesday morning to get some exercise. At around 8:40 am (local time), the animals were startled by a load of cement falling to the ground at a construction site. Five animals panicked, threw off their riders, and fled.

During their flight, two horses ran into vehicles: one collided with a typical London taxi, another with a parked tour bus. In the latter incident, a window broke and the horse was also injured. Images show the animal walking through the city covered in blood.

Five injured

After two hours, all horses were captured again, the British army reported. “All horses have now been found and returned to camp,” it said. “A number of staff and horses have been injured and are receiving appropriate medical care.” A total of five people were injured: three riders of the horses in question, and two other people. The two injured horses are now also being examined by a veterinarian.
