Chelsea failed to get full points when they visited the headquarters Sheffield United in week 32 Premier League. London Blue equalized 2-2 in injury time goal drama.

Sheffield United vs Chelsea held at Bramall Lane, Sunday (7/4/2024) evening WIB. The two teams drew 1-1 in the first half.

Thiago Silva put Chelsea ahead in the 11th minute. Sheffield equalized in the 32nd minute through Jayden Bogle’s goal.

Noni Madueke scored Chelsea’s second goal in the 66th minute. The Blues’ victory in sight was shattered when Oli McBurnie found the back of Djordje Petrovic’s goal in injury time and forced the duel to end in a 2-2 draw.

This result makes Chelsea collect 44 points and is in ninth place in the Premier League standings. Sheffield United are at the bottom of the standings with 16 points.

The Course of the Match

GOL! Chelsea opened the scoring eleven minutes into the game. Thiago Silva who listed his name on the scoreboard.

Silva grabbed Conor Gallagher’s corner with his shot. Chelsea leads 1-0.

Sheffield almost equalized in the 22nd minute. Brereton Diaz’s first-time shot was aimed at the Chelsea goal, but the ball was blocked by Moises Caicedo.

GOL! Sheffield scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute. Jayden Bogle who successfully beat Djordje Petrovic.

Bogle ran onto Gustavo Hamer’s through ball before kicking the ball low which hit Petrovic’s foot and into the Chelsea goal. The score was tied at 1-1 which lasted until halftime.

Both teams displayed buying and selling attacks in the second half. Silva’s header in the 62nd minute was saved by Ivo Grbic.

GOL! Chelsea scored the second goal four minutes later. Noni Madueke who successfully broke into Sheffield United’s goal.

Madueke received Cole Palmer’s pass before stabbing from the right and beating Grbic with his shot. Chelsea lead 2-1.

Sheffield is trying to catch up in the remaining time. The Blades’ hopes came true in the minute of injury time.

GOL! Oliver McBurnie successfully scored Sheffield’s second goal using Cameron Archer’s assist. This goal forced the duel to end in a 2-2 draw.
