100 days of war, 24,000 dead, “and no one will stop Israel”: Netanyahu stubbornly defends war

One hundred days of war is not enough for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He wants to continue fighting until the enemy is completely eliminated. “And no one will stop us.”

Netanyahu responded on Saturday to South Africa’s accusation before the International Court of Justice in The Hague that Israel is guilty of genocide in Gaza. “Absurd and hypocritical,” he called it. “That it is precisely the supporters of the new Nazis who accuse us of this.”

South Africa says Israel has violated the genocide convention it signed. The country relies on the death toll and seriously reduced access to food, drinking water and care. “It is a planned genocide,” says South Africa.

Netanyahu seems unimpressed. He promised to continue until “complete victory.” “We will restore security in both the south and the north. And no one will stop us. Not The Hague, not the axis of evil and no one else.”

The new budget, which was fiercely criticized for its many cuts, should help with this. “She ensures that the continuation of the war is possible. We are now on our way to victory and must not stop until we achieve that goal.”

Netanyahu continues to defend the war. “It is a moral and just war. The smear campaign will not weaken our hands. It is our policy to harm as few non-combatants as possible.”

Netanyahu was also asked at the press conference about the families of the 132 hostages still in Gaza. “A nightmare situation,” he called it. “My heart is with them and I will not rest until they are all returned to their loved ones.”

According to the Israeli Prime Minister, Hamas is now also plotting attacks in the rest of the world. Minister of Justice Paul Van Tigchelt (Open VLD) said in VTM news that there are no indications of this for our country.

This weekend, Egyptian and Chinese officials again called for a ceasefire. Both powers also stand for the recognition of the sovereign and independent Palestinian state. After a hundred days of war, 24,000 people were killed and more than 60,000 people were injured. “The violence must end,” say the foreign ministers of China and Egypt.
