Covid, one in five children became ill with myopia during the lockdown

We no longer know how to look far, and it is another of the legacies of Covid. The life spent at home, often in contact with screens, kept the virus away but led to an increase in myopia. This was noted in Hong Kong, where a permanent research program – the Hong Kong Children Eye Study – to monitor the vision of children aged 6 to 8 has published the results of the lockdown.
