SASSARI. A convinced pacifist, in stark contrast to the political choices of his country, a 50-year-old Russian who has lived and worked in Sassari for years turned to a law firm: Ā«I want to renounce Russian citizenship. What should I do?”. Certainly a singular request that arrived to the lawyer Giuseppe Onorato (expert in international law) but which in the historical period we are experiencing takes on an emblematic meaning.

“In my small way – said the man to the lawyer – I want to express in this way the maximum form of protest and contestation against the current leadership of my country. A political position that I abhor, incompatible with mine and in which I do not recognize myself Ā». Technically, it is possible to renounce citizenship, the man will become a stateless person and will seek asylum in Italy.
