The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued a warning that a cold wave will continue to affect most of central and eastern my country from February 20 to February 23. The daily average or minimum temperature is expected to drop by 8 to 12°C, with some areas in southern Hunan, eastern Guizhou, and northern Guangxi experiencing a cumulative temperature drop of more than 20°C. On February 20th to 22nd, widespread rain and snow will occur in the central and eastern regions, with heavy snowfall and strong winds expected in certain areas.

Affected by the cold wave, southern North China, western Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, and Jiangnan will experience temperature drops of 12 to 18°C. Furthermore, from 8:00 on February 20 to 8:00 on February 22, parts of my country will experience strong winds, with gusts reaching levels 8-9.

As for precipitation, widespread rain and snow are predicted to occur from February 20th to 22nd, with freezing rain or ice particles expected in parts of Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou. The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued blue gale warnings and freezing yellow warnings in light of the harsh weather forecasts.

The detailed forecast for the next three days includes heavy snowfall in northern Shaanxi, central and southern Shanxi, central and southern Hebei, central and northern Shandong, and northern and southwestern Henan on February 20 to February 21. On February 21 to 22, light to moderate snow is expected in some areas in Xinjiang, the central and eastern parts of Northwest China, central and western Inner Mongolia, most of North China, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, and Jianghan. From February 22 to 23, small to moderate snow and moderate to heavy rains are expected in the central and eastern parts of Northwest China, most of Shanxi, most of Henan, Jianghuai, Jianghan, northern and western Jiangnan, central and eastern Chongqing, the Western Sichuan Plateau, and Tibet.

The Central Meteorological Observatory has also announced heavy fog warnings in certain coastal areas, with visibility less than 1 kilometer in parts of the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, and the coastal waters of Guangdong and Guangxi.
