The final stages of the election campaign

The day this article reaches the readers, two weeks will be left for the elections and the election campaign will have entered its final stages. All the small and big political parties of Pakistan are running election campaigns in their own way. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, which entered the field with the slogan of winning two-thirds majority in these elections, entered the election field with a little delay. Instead, the Nawaz League approved the names of the election candidates in about two and a half dozen long meetings, but differences emerged at many places. If the opponents of the Nawaz League take these differences, then at the height of the election campaign and in the political environment of Pakistan, it becomes their right, but if there are not so many differences in the big political parties, then in the field of politics. Even if the colors are dull, no party except Pakistan People’s Party is running its election campaign like in the past. Pakistan People’s Party, Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf are the major political parties of the country that need to conduct election campaigns in the entire country and for this they need time and dynamic leadership and organization. It is said that a party like Muttahida, which has to run its campaign only in the urban areas of Sindh, also appeared to be a victim of laziness and apart from a semi-large rally, no major political excitement was seen. This is the situation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Awami National Party, Balochistan Awami Party and other parties. We are not including the Stability Pakistan Party in this because the existence of parties is based on the bill of the central leadership of other political parties, the Stability Party is somewhat different. It has heavyweights in it and they are running their own campaigns and the head of this party Jahangir Tareen has addressed two or three public gatherings so far and this is enough for him because the candidates of this party. Like other parties, the name of the party leader will not be voted on, but each member has to vote in his own personal capacity.

Nawaz League is facing the most difficult situation and no one else is responsible for this problem but the claims of two-third majority of Muslim League-Nawaz itself. Fulfilling these claims and fulfilling them is actually the biggest challenge for the Muslim League-Nawaz at this time. We will not talk about the popularity of anyone, but as a humble student of politics, one must guess that the powers that be are no longer in a mood to allow anyone to be arbitrary even by giving two-thirds or even a simple majority. In context, we have said that Muslim League-Nawaz is in the most difficult situation. Despite some internal problems, PML-N showed a good rally in Mansehra, but the small political players in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who have their own pockets and have been successful from there in the past are also part of them. Aftab Ahmad Sher Pao, Parvez Khattak are included while Jamiat Ulema Islam and ANP and Pakistan Peoples Party as a party and Tehreek-e-Insaf are present in the field as a powerful party with independent hopefuls. It remains to be seen how much the Nawaz League will get. Pakistan People’s Party started its election campaign long before other parties and first they focused on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and then in Balochistan and now in Punjab and Sindh they are running full election campaign in their own style. We used the word strong because everyone knows the position of Pakistan People’s Party in Punjab and its popularity is so low that in 2018 this party got a total of 7 seats in the provincial assembly from the entire province. Despite this, Bilawal is going everywhere. Bilawal contesting the election from NA-127 constituency of Lahore is certainly a challenge and the expectation of success will be a big thing, but if the Pakistan People’s Party gets significant votes, it will also be an encouraging thing for the Pakistan People’s Party in Punjab. . In this regard, another important thing is that the way Bilawal Bhutto is showing a soft corner for Tehreek-e-Insaf, will he be able to persuade the voters of Tehreek-e-Insaf or at least those voters of Pakistan People’s Party who used to vote for their party in the past? He had gone to Tehreek-e-Insaaf after being angry with them, they will be able to bring him back. This will also play an important role in the return of Pakistan People’s Party in Punjab.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is currently going through a difficult period and it has not been allowed to hold a single meeting or any political activity anywhere in the country, but it is not a big problem for it, rather this work is “hang lage na phatkri”. And Rang Bhi Aaye Chokha” can also be done on social media, but the real problems for this will be the inexperienced and weak position hopefuls in the electoral arena against the highly experienced and powerful candidates of Nawaz League and even more so in the elections. On the next day, the presence of clumsy candidates in comparison to these experienced candidates can spoil the popularity claims of Tehreek-e-Insaf. The second important thing that we have already mentioned is the popularity of Tehreek-e-Insaf, which everyone mentions. No one will be able to save the bar of justice from sinking.
